About one million packs of cigarettes that three Polish citizens wanted to illegally introduce in Romania, hidden in drywall and mineral wool boxes have been tracked down by border guards at Siret customs, northern country. The three Polish citizens have been remanded.
There were two cars transporting drywall and mineral wool boxes hiding 941,027 packs of cigarettes of various brands, worth RON 903,386.
The smuggled cigarettes have been seized, as well as the vehicles, while the three Polish citizens have been taken into custody for 24 hours. They will also be taken before the judges pending preventive arrest for 30 days.
3kg of cocaine discovered in the baggage of Australian woman
On the other hand, the border police officers have discovered on Henri Coanda (Otopeni) airport almost 3 kilos of cocaine in the baggage of an Australian woman who was coming from Lisbon, judicial sources told local media. The file has been taken over by DIICOT prosecutors.
