The list of countries at epidemiological risk updated: Turkey, Montenegro and the U.S. enter the red zone

The National Committee for Emergency Situations (CNSU) has published the new list of countries with epidemiological risk, by color codes – red, yellow and green, depending on the incidence of COVID-19 cases. Turkey, the USA and Montenegro enter the red zone, while the Netherlands and Malta enter the yellow zone. Greece remains on the red list.

Main changes following the updating of the list of countries / territories with a high epidemiological risk:

  • the red zone included: Turkey, Montenegro, the United States, Israel, Morocco, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica and Sint Maarten;
  • in the yellow zone entered:
  • – from the red zone, following a decrease in incidence: the Netherlands, Malta, Kuwait and Panama;   
  • – from the green zone, following the increase in incidence: Estonia, Lithuania, San Marino, Finland, Greenland, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Dominica, Bermuda and Saint Lucia;    
  • Luxembourg, Oman and Zimbabwe entered the green zone.

 

If the country of origin is on the yellow list, the person is not quarantined if vaccinated or has a PCR test, not older than 72 hours.

If it is in the red zone, either the person is vaccinated or quarantined. The test no longer exempts from quarantine.

The quarantine measure applies for 14 days, but the provision that if a quarantined person takes a COVID-19 test on the eighth day of quarantine and the result is negative, he can leave the quarantine on the tenth day.

Children under 3 years of age, without conditions, and those between 3 and 16 years of age are exempt from quarantine if they have a negative COVID test.

In addition, those who stay less than 3 days on the territory of Romania are exempted from quarantine.
