The lowest temperature of the winter: minus 35 at Intorsura Buzaului, Covasna. New warning for snowstorms and glaze

The lowest temperature of this winter, minus 35-Celsius degrees, has been registered at Intorsura Buzaului, Covasna County on Thursday morning. Minus 33 have been registered in Brasov and minus 29 in Miercurea Ciuc.

According to the weather forecasters in Intorsura Buzaului, the minimum registered on Thursday morning was only a degree lower than the absolute minimum of minus 36 registered on February 2005.

Frost also made the first victim of this year. A 51-year-old man was found dead near an abandoned building at Miercurea Ciuc outskirts on Thursday morning. First information show the victim was living in the abandoned building and he froze to death.

Railway transport has also been affected by extreme cold. Trains have registered up to 30-60 minutes delays due to frost. Yet, CFR (Romanian state railways) informed that no railroads have been closed.

 Snowfalls to come back as of Friday

Meanwhile, the National Weather Administration issued a new warning for snowstorm, snowfalls, strong wind and glaze to seize the entire country as of Friday morning.

The warning is valid until Saturday at 14:00. Yet, the good news is that the weather gets a little warmer.
