Nearly every country features a monarch or other national leader on at least some of their notes or coins. But many currencies celebrate other famous figures, from artists and athletes to social workers and spies.
In a new study, NetCredit analysed the types of people each country chooses to represent on money and then calculated how much each celebrity type is worth.
Romania has a diverse mix of people celebrated on its currency. Here’s a breakdown of who fronts Romanian money:
- 17% – Artist
- 8% – Engineer
- 17% – Head of Government
- 8% – Military
- 17% – Monarchy
- 8% – Musician
- 17% – Poet
- 8% – Writer
Findings include:
- Romania is one of only two countries to have an Engineer front their currency. The only other country is Transnistria.
- Romania is one of 19 countries to celebrate a Musician on cash – and one of only 18 countries to celebrate a Writer.
