The U.S., committed to working with Romania to help end all human trafficking

As today the World Day against Trafficking in Persons is marked and amid debate on the horrible Caracal murder case these days, the U.S Embassy in Bucharest has released a press statement, saying the United States is committed “to working with Romanians to help end all human trafficking.”

“In recognition of July 30, the World Day against Trafficking in Persons, the Embassy of the United States condemns trafficking in persons in all of its forms. The U.S. is committed to working with Romanians to help end all human trafficking.

We strongly urge all governments to combat human trafficking through comprehensive and victim-centered protection services, crime prevention that addresses the tactics of traffickers head-on and better informs communities, and prosecution and conviction of traffickers to hold them criminally accountable. With a focused approach to our collective anti-trafficking efforts, we can and will make a difference,” says the press release.
