Thousands of tourists climbed the Bucegi plateau, at the Sphinx. According to legend, every year, on November 28, the sun’s rays would form an energetic pyramid above the famous rock, which would have miraculous powers. However, many remained on the mountain after dark, so they needed the help of mountain rescuers to descend.
The images posted by Salvamont Romania features many tourists around the Sphinx, and most do not wear a protective mask.
It has already become a tradition for people to climb the Sphinx in large numbers on November 28, attracted by this story.
Salvamont Romania announced that thousands of people from the country and abroad climbed the Bucegi Plateau, on the day of the Sphinx. “The Salvaspeo Dâmbovița County Public Rescue Service has been present at this event since the beginning of the day, in order to inform and offer advice to tourists to prevent possible mountain accidents. With the closure of cable transport facilities and the darkness patrolled on the route Babele – Peştera so that it circulated very well and in safe conditions”, according to Salvamont Romania.
Many of the tourists stayed on the mountain even after it got dark, so the intervention of mountain rescuers was needed to help them descend.
