New rules regarding the fire security permits and the use of candles and torches have been announced on Friday. It’s the first such measure after the Colectiv blaze on October 30 in Bucharest that claimed 60 lives and left other 150 injured.
Thus, Bucharest Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) has forbidden candles and torches during theatre and opera shows or for entertainment and ambience in restaurants, bars, clubs or discos.
Moreover, for the open-air events, attended by more than 200 people, the fire security authorization is mandatory. The papers needed for this permit release must be filed at ISU at least 30 days before the show.
