Municipal Councillor, Lucian Iliescu, (PMP), has initiated a draft decision according to which, as of January 1, 2019, the traffic of motor vehicles with 0, 1, 2 pollution norm, or not classified, will be banned from traffic on the territory of Bucharest, daily, between 6:00h and 22:00h.
As of 2020, the euro 3 pollution norm cars will also be banned, during the same time interval, then as of 2021 the euro 4 cars, ziare.com reports.
The draft reads that exceptions will be for public transportation, ambulances, food transport, repair vehicles, diplomatic vehicles, TV vehicles and cars transporting people with handicap.
The draft decision also mentions that violating the rule would be fined by RON 500 to RON 2,000.
The councillor says the draft will be on public debate and will be debated by the Bucharest general council in May.
