Transporters and farmers blocked the Bucharest-Ploiesti Highway

Road traffic is blocked on Friday on the Bucharest-Ploiesti Highway, after three tractor-trailers stopped on the road, and the drivers are protesting. On the way to Ploiesti, a 6-kilometer queue was formed.

“The Infotraffic Center of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police informs that on the A3 Bucharest-Ploiesti highway, at kilometer 62, in the direction of Ploiesti, in the area of Dumbrava, Prahova county, in the context of transporters’ and farmers’ protests, 3 tractors stopped on the roadway, blocking the emergency lane, lane 1 and lane 2″, the Infotrafic Center announced on Friday.

The quoted source stated that the protesters got out of their vehicles and are walking. The police also announce that a column of approximately 6 kilometers has formed on the way to Ploiesti.

On Friday, the mayor of the capital, Nicușor Dan, approved the farmers’ and transporters’ protest. It will take place in Constituției Square, in front of the Parliament building, and the entry will be on Alexandriei Road, between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Nicușor Dan says that it was decided that the demonstrations would take place, not in Piața Victoriei, so that traffic would not be affected.

“The protocol says that the entrance to Bucharest is made on Alexandria Road between 6.00 – 7.00 in the morning. The exit from Bucharest is also on Alexandriei Road, between 22.00 and 23.00. (Protocol – n.r.) obliges the organizer to communicate to the law enforcement institutions the identification numbers of the cars and a number of organizers, with whom the Police and Gendarmerie will be in contact during the event”, said the general mayor.
