Young Ph.D. student in Chemistry at Babe?-Bolyai University, Sebastian Paic, owns an impressive collection of Romanian traditional costumes.
He managed to gather more than one thousand garments for the past ten years, spending all his savings and scholarshps on traditional fairs. He inherited the passion for these costumes from his grandparents who are originary from Otesti, Dragasani, where he bought his first pieces in the first place.
The entire collection of peasant garments is squeezed into a narrow place which used to serve as a store room for the students. He improvised a structure, a dress hanger that allows him to put the shirts (120 pieces), doublets, waistcloths and all sort of traditional objects.
The student’s collection counted in March over 1,000 traditional costumes out of which the oldest are over 120 years old, and it is representative for nothing less than 30 regions.
Thus, Sebastian Paic saved from extinction valuable costumes and his tremendous wish is to find a location where he can display his pieces permanently.
