Two American tourists, lost in the mountains, rescued by mountain gendarmes

Two American tourists who got lost along the route to the Caraiman Cross in Busteni (photo) were rescued by mountain gendarmes during the night of Tuesday to Wednesday.

Representatives of the Prahova Gendarmerie reported that the two men, aged 22 and 24, who got lost on their way along the Jepii Mici route from the Bucegi massif, after having started the mountain route in Buşteni, on the Spumoasă Valley, hoping to reach the Caraiman Cross, have been recovered, romaniatv.net informs.

The two tourists were lowered with the rope, along the way, to the town of Buşteni.

Their descent was very difficult and lasted longer due to the relief, the rough route and the darkness, ending in the morning, at around 04.00h, according to the quoted source.

The two young Americans did not need medical care.
