Two earthquakes shook Vrancea region on Thursday

Two earthquakes, with magnitudes of 3 and 3.5 on the Richter scale, took place in the Vrancea seismic region on Thursday, in Vrancea and Buzău counties, according to the National Institute of Research and Development for Earth Physics (INCDFP).

The first earthquake occurred at 3:52h local time in Buzau County, and had a magnitude of 3 on the Richter scale, at a depth of 126 kilometers.

The earthquake occurred near the towns of Nehoiu (5 km), Vălenii de Munte (33 km), Urlaţi (39 km), Slănic (40 km) and Intorsura Buzăului (40 km).

The second earthquake occurred at 10:53h in Vrancea County, and had a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale, at a depth of 92 km. The intensity of the earthquake in the epicenter was of 1 degree on Mercalli scale.

The earthquake occurred near the towns of Odobeşti (36 km), Panciu (40 km), Onşti (43 km), Tîrgu Ocna (49 km) and Focşani (50 km).
