Two officials detained in the Agriculture Ministry bribery file

Former state secretary of Agriculture Ministry  Nagy Peter Tamas and the institution’s secretary general Virgil Gaman have been detained on Thursday night in a bribery and money laundering file. According to the National Anti-corruption Direction, the two officials received RON 177,000 as bribe from several private companies.

Nagy and Gaman are charged with bribery, forgery, instigation at use of forgery and money laundering. Two of the managers of the companies that allegedly bribed Nagy and Gaman, Claudiu Vasilescu and Haller Zoltan-Jozsef, have also been detained.
