Update: Code Yellow for river flooding in 13 counties. Short snowfalls in the mountains on Tuesday

The hydrologists have issued a Code Yellow warning for river flooding for the counties of Covasna, Braşov, Sibiu, Vâlcea, Gorj, Argeş, Olt, Dolj, Teleorman, Dâmboviţa, Giurgiu, Ilfov and Prahova in force as of Tuesday at 12.00h until Wednesday at 16.00h.According to INHGA, the phenomena can occur with a higher probability between 09.05.2017 as of 15:00h – 10.05.2017 at 06:00h on some small rivers in the counties of Valcea, Arges, Dambovita.

Besides, until 23:00h is also in force the meteorologists’ warning of accentuated atmospheric instability and significant quantitative rainfall countrywide.

On Tuesday, in just 20-30 minutes it rained as in a month. There were areas where the hail has destroyed the crops. In the mountains, snowball and blizzards were registered in the morning.

In Buzau, a thunderous torrential rain swept over the city.

Hail produced panic in Dambovita County. In Barbuletu commune, large hail has ruined many of the vegetables and fruit crops.

In Tulcea County, the flood flowed on the streets. Several drivers were stuck and unable to drive their cars because of the water level.

At Cota 2000 chalet, it started snowing Tuesday morning. Rescuers advise the tourists not to venture in the mountains at high altitudes.

High instability is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday and also fall in temperatures, with highs of 10-12 degrees Celsius until Thursday.
