The US Ambassador in Romania, Hans Klemm, visited the Roma community living in an area called Pirita, located on the outskirts of Baia Mare – Bogdan Gavra, director of Public Service Social of the Baia Mare City Hall, wrote on Thursday on his Facebook page.
“Pirita area was visited by the US Ambassador to Romania, Hans Klemm (…) along with specialists from the Public Service Social Assistance and from HHC Romania Foundation representatives. (…) The purpose of the meeting was to find real solutions to increase social inclusion. Ambassador Hans Klemm wanted to know more details about the services and the programmes offered to this community, and about the problems faced by the residents of this area,” Bogdan Gavra said.
On Thursday, the US diplomat will have a meeting with Prefect Sebastian Luput, with the Maramures County Council chairman and the Mayor of Baia Mare, Marinel Rob.
Also on Thursday, the US ambassador will visit the workshop “Potter’s House” in Baia Sprie of craftsman Daniel Les.
