US marines built kindergarten, revamped old school in Deveselu

A new kindergarten (photo) and a newly revamped school opened their gates in Deveselu on Monday. In less than a year, the US marines built up a new 300-sqm nursery school. The building has three rooms, a dining hall, a kitchen, a surgery and a gymnasium. The kindergarten will host 46 pre-schools.

For now, the kindergarten has a short programme but most parents would want to leave their kids there until afternoon. Unfortunately, two more teachers are needed and there is no money for that.

The school in Deveselu also underwent a face lift with the Americans’ help. Now, 170 pupils are learning in one of the most modern schools in the country. The school directors would want to include an eating house inside the school.

The projects of building a new kindergarten and revamping the old school cost over USD 800,000 fully paid by the American side. William Garren, the commander of the military base in Deveselu pledged that the cooperation between US military and the school would go on, tvr.ro informs.
