WB expert gives tough warning on corruption investigations in Romania

A World Bank expert on Monday said that the Romanian judiciary must focus on seizing the stolen goods and returning them to the damaged so that the fight against corruption should go more efficient.

According to Ismail Radwan, there is no week without a high-ranking official being investigated, but that the focus should be on the stolen goods recovery. Speaking at Foreign Investors Summit 2015, he said it’s useless if corrupt politicians or businessmen are arrested but they get out of jail after one year or two and keep enjoying all the goods they had stolen from the public property.
