City dwellers will allot an average budget of RON 310 for Saint Nicholas gifts, reads a study conducted by Mednet Marketing Research Center and released on Thursday.
93.2 % of the respondents living in cities with less than 100,000 residents said they would buy presents, while 87.7 % of the big city dwellers would do that. However, the figure is on the rise, as last year less than 80 % of the big city dwellers intended to buy gifts for Saint Nicholas.
Most of the prevalent presents will be sweets, over 80 pc of the city dwellers preferring them, but toys, clothes, shoes, cosmetics and perfumes are also topping the preferences. About 12 percent of the city residents intend to offer a smartphone or tablet as Saint Nicholas gift.
The study was conducted on a 800 representative during November 26-December 2.
