Education minister Pavel Nastase on Tuesday announced that all schools in Romania would have Wi-Fi Internet in the upcoming four years. He added that there is money in the state budget that will mainly go to the countryside schools, where there is no such Internet connection or the devices are old.
“At present, all schools in Romania are connected to the Internet, but we talk about a fixed connection. We have a project funded by EU money that is under way, called the School Campus. Devices will be fixed in schools that lack Wi-Fi, so that all schools should be connected to Wi-Fi net in the classroom in four years,” said the Education minister.
He explained that the money would mainly be directed to the schools in the countryside for they face the highest shortage on that. “We are trying to compensate their discomfort and we are collaborating with the IT companies that offered their support,” the minister said.
