Woogie, the robot for children created by a Romanian team

A team of Romanian engineers is developing a robot that aims at becoming the best friend of children aged 6 to 12. Woogie the robot comes from another planet, is very friendly, eager to learn, talk and listen, Descopera.ro reports.

The robot’s creator got his inspiration from his daughter, who used to recount that she had come from another planet and how she wanted to conquer the world.

In scientific terms, Woogie is a personal assistant for children. “A sort of Amazon Echo for kids, equipped with machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence,” says Bogdan Coman, Woogie’s creator.

Coman says that his daughter Daria used to recount when she was nine that she had come from another planet and that she wante to conquer the Earth. For that reason, the company that is producing the robot is called Aliens by Daria.

Woogie is a robot, a device that you can talk to, he can answer and address children, can learn but parents can use him, too. Woogie’s shape is not concluded yet, with a final body to be available next summer. Even without a final body, the robot can answer any question among the allowed fields, can play music, can control “smart” devices, can turn off the lights and control the TV’s volume.

Hi, thanks for the pics, we haven’t had access to any latest photos with the robot so far, that’s why we used a general one.
