Young man, handcuffed after imaging “#rezist” message on the Royal Palace during Bucharest’s Spotlight

#rezist” message, the logo that became famous during Romania’s anti-corruption protests last year, has been imaged on the Museum of Art building in Bucharest during the Spotlight festival on Friday. The Police identified the one that screened the message from the 8-storyed terrace of a building nearby and took him in custody. Police officers said the young man had an injurious language and that’s why he had been handcuffed, taken to the police sanction and fined.

The Bucharest Police was notified by a 112 call that images are screened on the Royal Palace in the Capital, that is hosting the Museum of National Art.

Policemen went on the scene and identified a man who was making the screening on the balcony of a building nearby.

Police agents said Mihai Dide refused to show his ID papers and had an injurious language and this was the reason for immobilizing him. Later on, he was taken to the police station where he received a RON 2, 600 fine.

I have bruises on my arm. I will file a disciplinary complaint, possible a criminal complaint. I have cuts from the handcuffs and also bruises on my back. The police officer got into a rage. I was just expressing an ironic comment, it’s not normal to get wild, especially he also had a gun,” Dide said, as quoted by Pro TV.
