Actor Tim Robbins, for the first time in Romania

Actor Tim Robbins, Oscar and Golden Globes winner, will come to Romania for the first time. He is to attend the Sibiu International Theatre Festival on June 16th as director of the “Midsummer Night Dream” performance.

According to the festival’s director quoted by Agerpres, the famous actor will also go to Bucharest to present his theatre company “The Actors’ Gang” from Los Angeles.

Constantin Chiriac unveiled that negotiations to bring Robbins in Romania had lasted no less than five years.

The Sibiu festival’s director informed that “The Actors’ Gang” company will present the “Midsummer Night Dream’ performance directed by Tim Robbins at the State Philharmonics in Sibiu on June 16th and June 17th. The tickets have been already put up for sale, with prices ranging from RON 10 to RON 40.

Tim Robbins is also expected to lecture within FITS and he will receive a star on the Celebrities Alley in Sibiu on June 18th.

The American actor born in 1958 is well known for his portrayal of Andy Dufresne in the prison drama film The Shawshank Redemption (1994). His other roles include Nuke LaLoosh in Bull Durham, Jacob Singer in Jacob’s Ladder, Griffin Mill in The Player, and Dave Boyle in Mystic River, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, and for directing films such as Dead Man Walking.
