Artown Festival Kicks Off at UZUC Factory

Artown Festival, Romania’s largest mural art festival, is ready for a new edition. The opening event will take place in a truly special location – the UZUC Factory (Underground Zone of Unconventional Culture), transformed into the newest cultural playground in Ploiești.

Jurjak & Bianca Oance – Immersed in Industrial Art + Special Guest Killa Fonic

On October 4th, at 6:00 PM, the festival begins with a concert by Jurjak, an artist who blends rock, blues, and electro in his distinctive style, instantly recognizable from the first notes. With unique lyrics and an unmistakable sound, Jurjak promises to transform the industrial hall into a perfect soundscape for the festival’s opening. UZUC will serve as an authentic stage where art and industrial history collide in a contemporary fusion.

The unusual location of the former factory, positioned at the intersection of past and future, creates the perfect setting for exploring various forms of urban art. The raw space will be transformed and complemented by immersive experiences where art breathes again. For 17 days, Artown Festival will be a place where creativity comes to life in all its forms. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore how artists fill the working surfaces, all in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, where anyone can enjoy art in an unconventional urban setting.

Admission is free, and all art lovers are invited to join for a memorable experience.

Artown is a festival dedicated to urban art, born from the desire to reimagine cities, implicitly industrial spaces. Every year, the festival transforms an unconventional place in Ploiesti into a meeting point of art, music and community.
Romania Journal supports the festival as media partner.
