Charitable rock concert for the ‘Colectiv’ fire’s victims

The victims of the ‘Colectiv’ deadly fire were remembered on Friday evening at the Roman Arenas in Bucharest at Legal Rock, event, whith  bands like The R.O.C.K., Aura, Zob and Trooper performing. Hundreds of people attended the show, teenagers, adults, families with babies.

According to the show’s guest, Cristi Hrubaru, initially the Legal Rock event was organised to raise funds for Stop Autism Association, but after the Colectiv tragedy the event was postponed by one week and the funds to be raised would be split between the association and the families of the Colectiv club victims, via the Estuar Foundation.  Charity collection boxes were mounted on the two bars in the concert area.

A moment of silence in the memory of the Colectiv victims was kept. “Let us give them a round of applause because they can hear us from where they are now!” Hrubaru said. “Imagine that all our friends are here, that photographers are here in throngs, just like in the good old days,” he added.

The first to perform on the Roman Arenas stages was The R.O.C.K., an AC/DC tribute band. They dedicated AC/DC’s “Back in Black” to the Colectiv victims. Singer Tudor Turcu, who mounted the stages accompanied by his band, urged the spectators to glove a big round of applause for the decimated Goodbye to Gravity band. He also urged the spectators to kneel and say “Our Father.” “To show them just how much Satanist we are,” he added, hinting to some public comments that the music performed at Colectiv when tragedy struck was “Satanist.”

Coma, R.O.A., Parazitii, Suie Paparude and E.M.I.L were also performing.

A series of concerts grouped under the hashtag #Impreuna Rezistam (Together We Resist), also took place on Saturday at the same venue.
