TIFF 2015 to premiere the star-studded cine-pool

Transilvania International Film Festival (May 29 – June 7, Cluj-Napoca) – TIFF – will bring again to the fore the Compagnie des Quidams band through a new and visually unique musical show: “Fiers à Cheval”.

A fragment will be performed in the official opening on May 29, starting at 20.45, in Union Square, and the whole show can be enjoyed at Bontida, in the first evening of the Castle Weekend, on May 30, at 20.30.

The show at the castle will be followed by the premiere in Romania of one of the most expected documentaries of the year, “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck”, directed by Brett Morgan, the first film about the famous leader of Nirvana, made with the cooperation of his family.

Moreover, this year, TIFF proposes to Cluj audience a new concept: the cine-pool. In swimsuits, spectators will be able to watch from the pool of the Belvedere Hotel’s Moving Club, the “Short Plays” film, a collage of 31 stories about the football fever, directed by as many directors, including Gaspar Noé, Carlos Reygadas, Vincent Gallo and Karim Aïnouz. The event takes place on June 1 at 20.30.

As well memorable will be the “Taboo” experience on June 1 at 21.00, at the Students Cultural House. The last masterpiece of F.W. Murnau will be accompanied live by Christine Ott, one of the best ondes Martenot performers in the world.

TIFF will continue with “YouTube Bazaar”, the new film by Dan Chisu, on June 3; on June 4 will run “Zivan Makes a Punk Festival” (directed by Ognjen Glavonic); on June 5 will be presented “Bikes Vs. Cars”, a documentary about the effects of cars on the climate, while on June 6, motorcyclists are awaited for “On Any Sunday: The Next Chapter”.
