LINE-UP for the Ukrainian MusicLab Showcase:

Andrii Barmalii x Oleksandr Yavdyk
Andrii Barmalii is a multidisciplinary artist whose music blends jungle, jazz, drum ‘n’ bass, and hip-hop, creating expressive electronic soundscapes that fuse technology with human emotions. Oleksandr Yavdyk, a drummer with intense emotional depth and technical skill, moves fluidly between genres. Together, their saxophone and drum duo engages in a direct, raw musical conversation.

Farba Kingdom

The duo Farba Kingdom (Daniil and Liza Farba) from Odesa channels the multicultural essence of the city into dark, post-punk-inspired electronic music. Their debut album Німб evokes industrial darkness and hypnotic synthesisers, reflecting Odesa’s neo-Gothic and Soviet architectural contrasts, with themes of nostalgia and transformation.

Postman (Kostiantyn Pochtar)
Based in Kyiv, Postman started by playing raw, acoustic “city folk” tunes, with his hit Kyivski Vulytsi becoming an unofficial anthem. After expanding his sound with a full band on Still Life, he combines acoustic guitars with electronic elements, drawing on influences like Bowie to capture the ephemeral beauty of life.

NFNR (Olesia Onykiienko)
Kyiv-based musician NFNR creates dreamy, emotive electronic soundscapes. Balancing fragility and strength, her music explores deep emotional territory. With live performances at ESNS, SHARPE, and more, her recent EP Fragility delves into the delicate balance of human existence.

TANKATAKA,
TANKATAKA, the stage name of Ukrainian singer-songwriter Tetiana Kozhukharenko, creates reflective indie pop resonating with themes of loneliness and nostalgia. Her powerful and emotive voice transcends language, reaching listeners worldwide, making her a rising indie pop talent.

Facing the challenges of war, many Ukrainian artists have had to suspend their artistic projects or move abroad. Ukrainian MusicLab offers them a new opportunity for growth and recognition in Europe.

Launched at the beginning of October 2024, this programme provides artists with a comprehensive training framework, including online workshops, in-person preparation sessions in Bucharest, and pitching opportunities with local and international music journalists and industry professionals.

Over three weeks, Ukrainian artists explore new ways to promote and diversify their income in the European music market while learning content production techniques under the guidance of European music industry experts. The online training sessions & speed meetings are held with Alona Dmukhovska (Ukraine), Salomé Besse (France), Hans-Paul Landrieve (France), Ana Martinez (Spain/France), Aël Guégan (France), Christian Holl Bühl (Denmark/Germany), Dan Cole (UK/Germany), James Hendicott (Ireland), Maro Angelopoulou (Greece), Noémie Lecoq (France), Andra Rotariu (Romania), François Audigier (France), Ivana Jelača (Croatia), Marta Stupin (Croatia), and Vasil Anastasov (Bulgaria).
