People who have animal names will have free access to the Antipa Museum in Bucharest on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, World Animal Day, museum representatives inform.
“We are waiting for you on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at the Antipa Museum, to celebrate World Animal Day together! On this occasion, we inform you that all visitors who are named after a creature from the world of non-speakers have free access to the permanent exhibition!”, says a message posted on the institution’s Facebook page.
“On this occasion, we would like to inform you that all visitors named after a creature from the non-speaking world have free access to the permanent exhibition! 😍❤️We therefore invite all of you who love animals, whether you have their names or not, to spend the day at the museum and take part in an imaginary journey around the world, accompanied of course by your favorite animals from the Antipa Museum!World Animal Day was born following the ecologists’ convention in Florence, in 1931, and aimed to draw attention to the alarming increase in the number of endangered animal species. Today, this day is meant to recognize the important role played by animals both in nature and in people’s lives,” Antipa Museum says.
Art Safari, 50% discounts for Popescus
Art Safari Exhibition in Bucharest also offers a surprise to all those who bear the name Popescu, as it celebrates Ștefan Popescu (1872-1948), the great painter-traveler of Romania.
Only on October 5, those bearing the surname Popescu can purchase tickets online with a 50% discount to visit the exhibitions.
The exhibition “Ștefan Popescu. Travel Story“, curated by Dr. Elena Olariu, is organized in partnership with the Bucharest City Museum and is the largest so far in Romania.
Not so famous in his country of origin, the artist began his career in Germany and lived a large part of his life in Paris, where he perfected his technique and became a friend of Constantin Brâncusi.
France, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Algiers, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Yugoslavia, Germany are just some of the countries he visited and painted. But also beautiful places in Romania, including Delta landscapes, can be admired on his canvases at Art Safari, until December 11, in the Dacia-Romania Palace (Bucharest City Museum).
