“The DWMT project, supported by Diud, was born from our desire to always stay active, to explore, to build new relationships and to develop ourselves, even when it seemed that there was nothing left to do. In this context, the festival emerged naturally. After a few events with the public, we realized that there is both a demand from the participants and a great passion from us. Thus, we decided to embark on this path. We had the patience to let things settle and were lucky enough to meet the right people to organize a festival as we envisioned it. We are only at the second edition and we are confident that it will be at least as successful as last year. So we look to the future and continue to build under this platform, DWMT,” said Andrei Gheorghe, co-founder of DWMT at Conac.
The collaboration with Women in Music Romania continues with panel discussions every day on relevant topics, such as “Public perception and opportunities in art” and “Creative Courage – how artists turn fear into impact,” with industry guests and moderators.
On Saturday, the Forest Stage will discuss public perception and opportunities in the arts. Among the speakers are Alex Coțofană (Marketing Manager Global Records), Alina Bălan (PR Global Records), Ovidiu Saracan (musician) and Andra Rotariu (Artist Manager). On Sunday, the same stage will address the theme of creative courage, exploring how artists transform fear into impact, with interventions from Ileana Sebe (Managing Director of Next Advertising), Doru Pușcașu (leader of the band Om La Luna), Heracleea Lateș (Architect) and Cristina Oltean ( Head of Digital Women in Music Romania).
Visual arts
In parallel with the music, the festival will celebrate the visual arts through the exhibition “We Lived Good Lives,” curated by Medina Pop, which invites the public to explore deep themes related to life and memory through the works of more than 20 Romanian artists. Among them are Nadina Stoica, Vlad Nancă, Sergiu Chihaia, Ioana Aron, Lucian Hrisav, Traian Cherecheș, Luca Florian, Andreea Badea, Ileana Sebe, Alexandru Ranga or Mircea Barac, each contributing to a collective story about identity and memory.
“Memory shapes our identities, influences our decisions, and connects us to both what came before us and what will come after us. From the fleeting beauty of a childhood landscape, evoking the warmth and nostalgia of the ease of being, to abstract forms that propagate the elusive, dreamlike quality of a distant memory, art is a piercing reference to how the past continually shapes the present. We Lived Good Lives is actually a celebration of life as we know it. Whether you let it work on your own intersections and remembrances, or let the perspective on the experiences of others dominate, this exhibition claims the importance of the role that art has in preserving individual and collective stories, in relation to our human nature and in relation to with the feeling of a non-human future,” stated Medina Pop.
