Violonist Gabriel Croitoru and pianist Horia Mihail will perform the last two concerts of the “Enescu’s violin” national tour in Brasov on October 13 (Sala Patria, 7 p.m.) and in Bucharest on October 15 (Sala Radio, 7 p.m.). The two musicians will perform three Mozart, Beethoven and Lekeu sonatas, within a program similar to George Enescu and Alfred Alessandrescu’s in 1919.
Enescu’s Guarneri del Gesu violin belongs to George Enescu National Museum.
Organized by Radio Romania Actualitati and Accendo Cultural Association “George Enescu’s violin” national tour included several cities, Bucharest parks and also some villages such as Tescani, Jurilovca, S?li?te, Greci or Gura Râului. Thus, the two musicians have taken Enescu’s music to faraway places in Romania where classical music usually never gets, just like maestro Enescu who used to carry his music where people mostly needed it: in the villages, to the war front or to hospitals.
