Famous bookshop in Bucharest turns into location for comic strip

Comic lovers will have their own place in the Capital city to enjoy their hobby.

Cărturești Quinet bookshop in Bucharest will turn into Fandom, a location for comics intended both for those reading them and for the comic authors.

The facelift will be marked on January 28, as of 5 p.m. through an opening party with punch and DJ set, where the guests can come dressed like their favorite comic character. The most interesting costumes will be awarded at the end of the night with magazines, albums and accessories for super-heroes. Moreover, all products will have 10 percent discount on the opening day, organizers inform.

The smallest of the Cărturești bookshops, the Quinet one, located on 9 Edgar Quinet street, aims at sheltering a real kingdom of comics: graphic novels, magazine, albums, fanzines, Romanian and foreign comics, but also figurines, boardgames and movie selections. Among the magazines offered as prized there will be Deadpool 5, Iron Man 5, Thor 5 and Deadpool Kills Marvel Universe album.

The location will also shelter temporary small comics exhibitions, with the roof being painted by Alexandru Ciubotariu, comic author and collector, the creator of the Square Cat urban character.

Fandom bookshop will be open as of January 28, from Monday to Friday, between 12:00-20:00 and on Saturday, from 11:00 to 18:00.

Cărturești is a concept store serving as a bookstore and cultural agent, rejoining 18 bookshops in Bucharest and other Romanian cities.
