Famous Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen performs charity gala concert at Bucharest National Opera

The Bucharest National Opera presents one of the landmark events within the Centennial Season: the Extraordinary Gala Concert performed by soprano Lise Davidsen, the voice of the moment at the international level. The event has a charitable purpose and will take place on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 18:30, and the entire amount raised from ticket sales will be donated to the Iasi Regional Institute of Oncology.

Master José Miguel Pérez-Sierra will be at the conducting desk as a guest. The Gala event will enjoy the participation of the Bucharest National Opera Orchestra and Choir, and the program will include works by Giuseppe Verdi, Richard Wagner and Pietro Mascagni.

Lise Davidsen, considered the greatest soprano voice on the world lyric map after the disappearance of Kirsten Flagsta, performed exactly one year ago, on May 10, 2021, under the baton of master Riccardo Chailly in the reopening concert of the famous Teatro alla Scala, from Milan.

The event marked the end of two years of inactivity caused by the pandemic and celebrated the 75th anniversary of the resumption of performances after World War II. The soprano of Norwegian origin, became recognized on the international stage in 2015, winning multiple prizes in the Operalia, Regina Sonja and Hans Gabor Belvedere competitions. These were closely followed by triumphant debuts at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House Convent Garden, the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Wiener Staatsoper and the festivals in Aix-en-Provence, Bayreuth and Glyndebourne.

Lise Davidsen performed for the first time on a Romanian stage in 2019, during the “George Enescu” International Festival.
