The 11th edition of the Romania International Film Festival (Ro-IFF) will kick off in a week at Amfiteatru-La Pescarie in Vama Veche, the nonconformist Romanian seaside resort. The festival will also run in Bucharest during October 19-25 at Union Cinema. The festival is presenting movies which are not screened in multiplex cinemas.
The opening of the festival this year commemorates 100 years since the Armenian genocide through a special projection released for the first time in our country “1915 The Movie”, US, 2015, directed by Garin Hovannisian and Alec Mouhibinan and starring Simon Abkarian, Angela Sarafyan and Sam Page. The screening is scheduled as of 9 p.m. at the venue in Vama Veche.
The festival has lots of surprises in store, feature films from CineBlackSea and Woman in Cinema sections, from Focus, 2×3, XTREME, Rockzone and the Midgnight Film.
Romania International Film Festival is an event promoting Eastern European filmmakers from the Black Sea Region, especially racing for CineBlackSea competition and has also a section reserved to female directors, Woman in Cinema. At the same time Ro-IFF is joining all those supported the cause of Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, arrested by the Russian intelligence service in May 2014.
