Full Moon Creative Lab has chosen its participants

12 screenwriters from 7 European countries will participate in the first creative residency.

Full Moon Creative Lab, the project intended for scriptwriters for genre series: thriller, horror and fantasy, has selected the participants and the three projects to which they will contribute creatively during the 3 residencies.

The Transylvania International Film Festival (TIFF) initiative is supported by the Creative Europe Program, and the first residency will take place at the end of October, in Transylvania.

The lab marks the next step in the development of the Full Moon Script Contest, a program launched by TIFF in 2020.

Following the call for projects opened at TIFF in June and completed in September, from over 70 projects entered, the jury selected 12 screenwriters, who will have the opportunity to participate in the residencies organized in October 2023, March and June 2024 and to develop skills in a creative environment alongside international film industry experts.

The three selected projects belong to screenwriters Adina Istrate (Romania) – the script of the thriller Aurora, Giulio Rizzo (Italy) – the horror-fantasy project ICU – Immortal Care Unit and Barbara Skubic (Slovenia) – the script of the thriller Negative Split.

In the first creative residency, the 3 screenwriters mentioned above are joined by 9 other screenwriters from Romania, Italy, Ireland, Hungary, Slovenia, Poland and Bulgaria. They are: Barry Murphy, Rosella di Campli, Richard Karpala, Sînziana Cojocărescu, Nadya Todorova, Greg Simmons, Cristina Iliescu, Attila Veres, Rafael Alberto Garciola.

The screenwriters will be divided into 3 Writers’ Rooms whose facilitators are professionals from the film industry: Eilon Ratzkovsky (Israel), producer with over 25 years of experience in the production of films and TV series.

In recent years, tutor for TorinoFilmLab and Biennale College Cinema and Head of studies for TFL Extended, Arnaud Louvet, French screenwriter and producer, involved in series projects for streaming platforms, covering a multitude of genres, from crime to drama period and screenwriter and director Geo Doba from Romania, graduate of the prestigious Serial Eyes Program from DFFB in Berlin, where she received the Big Light Writers’ Apprenticeship Award (2021), participant at TFL Extended 2019 – Feature Film workshop, and in 2021 at Pustnik international screenwriting residency with the Unrooted project.

The first edition will end with a pitching session at the Transilvania International Film Festival (June 2024), in front of influential industry professionals: producers, sales agents, representatives of televisions and the main streaming platforms, favoring opportunities such as projects to find support in the market.
