Noblesse Palace – Arts and Events Center is hosting the first exhibition in Romania dedicated to Henri Matisse, “Masterpieces of the graphic art”, during April 7 to June 7. The exhibition is rejoining 83 lithographs of the famous artist, owned by private virtuosi and managed by a foreign investment fund and now offered to the Romanian audience by Noblesse Cultural Association.
The display comprises lithographs, graphics or works of collage technique from the “Jazz” cycle, as well as pictures that Matisse created for “Florilege des Amours” love poems by Renaissance poet Pierre de Ronsard. Some of the illustrations displayed at Noblesse Palace are also found in the patrimony of some prestigious world museums such as MoMa, Tate, Centre Pompidou or renowned private collections.
The lithographs are made by the artist during 1945-1950 illustrating Matisse’s last period of life. Ranging from messages of love for his Russian mistress Lydia to manifests for color, the lithographs are especially valuable through their message, ‘unveiling a real show that is taking us on the path followed by the artist himself in search of happiness and creativity’ as Adela Mara, Noblesse cultural manager put it.
This exhibition’s hosting by Noblesse Palace-Arts and Events Center is not accidental, as the building is a real masterpiece of the Romanian architecture, a unique location through its history and elegance, dating back in 1881. “The main mission of the Noblesse Cultural Association is to organize exceptional cultural events in order to bring this Bucharest historical building to life and to contribute to our Capital promotion, as an important cultural touristic destination,” Loredana Preda, Noblesse CEO told a press conference on Wednesday.
Any visit of the closed-circuit exhibition is available after making an appointment.
The exhibition can be visited during the week between 10:00 to 19:00, with a ticket of RON 45. During the week, pupils and students have free access, based on their student card.
In order to mark the presence of these works, Noblesse Palace will host every Saturday a “Rendez-vous cocktail avec Henri Matisse”, when visitors will enjoy a private tour of the palace and of the exhibition, as well as a special cocktail. Tickets for the weekend tours are available at RON 90.
However, other additional events will follow during this period, including the weekend cocktails, a cabaret soiree, a jazz concert performed by Harry Tavitian and Mihai Iordache, an exquisite French wine and cheese tasting, soiree chic a la Francais and a flower and lightning performance by Ruxandra Mateescu.
There is definately a lot to learn about this issue.
I like all of the points you made.
