Art Safari Bucharest International Fair, consisting of over 3,000 paintings, sculptures and other works of contemporary and heritage art, has been inaugurated on Tuesday.
The opening took place at 18:30 and the location was a downtown unique building used in the past as a parking lot. The building is the first multi-storey car park in Bucharest and was built in the first half of the past century.
The fair will be open to public starting with Wednesday, 12.00 to 21.00. It will be open until Sunday and only on Saturday the program will be up to 4 am, with the occasion of the Museums’ Night.
Over 50 museums and galleries in Romania and from abroad take part in the fair, now at its second edition. There are foreign galleries from Italy, Denmark, Austria, Hungary, Germany and over 60 stalls.
Art Safari is the only annual event destined to both Romanian and regional art, highlighting contemporary developments, which invites Romanian and international contemporary art galleries and museums to exhibit works in special locations.
