Paul Negoescu) and For me you are Ceaușescu (dir. Sebastian Mihăilescu) are the films officially entering the race for the Gopo trophy in the Best Feature Film category. The performances of Romanian creators in the field of cinematography will be rewarded at the awards gala, on April 25 in Bucharest.
The most nominated Romanian movies this year are: Metronom (11 nominations), Immaculate (10 nominations), Men of Deeds (10 nominations), Miracle (9 nominations), Blue Moon (8 nominations)and For me you are Ceaușescu (5 nominations), Occasional Spies/Spioni de ocazie (5 nominations).
For the best direction, the following filmmakers are nominated: Alina Grigore (Blue Moon), Monica Stan and George Chiper-Lillemark (Immaculate), Alexandru Belc (Metronom), Bogdan George Apetri (Miracle) and Paul Negoescu (Men of Deeds).
For the best leading actress, the following are racing: Andreea Grămoșteanu (#dogpoopgirl), Mălina Manovici (Balaur/A Higher Law), Ana Dumitrașcu (Immaculate), Mara Bugarin (Metronom) and Ioana Bugarin (Miracle), while for the best leading actor, the following are nominated: Mircea Postelnicu (Blue Moon), Șerban Lazarovici (Metronom), Emanuel Pârvu (Miracle), Iulian Postelnicu (Men of Deeds), Bogdan Dumitrache (Om câine/Man and Dog).
The films Apropierea/Too Close (dir. Botond Püsök), For me you are Ceaușescu (dir. Sebastian Mihăilescu) and Occasional Spies (dir. Oana Bujgoi Giurgiu) will compete in 2023 for the title of Best Documentary Film.
In the Best European Film category, the film critics from the nominations jury voted for the following five titles distributed in cinemas in Romania last year: Le passagers de la nuit/ Passengers of the night (dir. Mikhael Hers), L’événement / The Event ( dir. Audrey Diwan), Alcarras (dir. Carla Simon), Vortex (dir. Gaspar Noé), Il buco / Grota (dir. Michelangelo Frammartino).
