The renowned American guitarist Al Di Meola had a heart attack during the concert he gave on Wednesday evening in Bucharest, according to medical sources quoted by Digi 24. The artist is admitted to the “Bagdasar-Arseni” Hospital.
The guitarist, aged 69, gave a concert on Wednesday evening at the Roman Arenas. According to reports on social networks, Al Di Meola got sick on stage towards the end of the concert.
“I confirm that Al Di Meola has been admitted to cardiology since last night on a STEMI watch, stable at the moment,” stated the spokesperson of the medical unit, Florin Bica.
American jazz guitarist of Italian origin Al Di Meola, real name Al Laurence Dimeola, brought an original, technical, introspective and innovative style to the world of music. He has released over 20 studio albums to date.
Among the most known of his compositions, there are „Meditarranean Sundance”, „Libertango”, „Race With The Devil In Spanish Highway”, „Land Of The Midnigh Sun” or ”Elegant Gypsy Suit”.
