The Writers Union in Romania nominated Mircea Cartarescu for the Nobel literature prize in 2015. Cartarescu, 58, has been rated to win the Nobel in literature in the past years, according to several betting offices. In 2014, the Writers Union in Romania nominated Mircea Cartarescu along with Nicolae Breban, Norma Manea and Varujan Vosganian.
In October, before the Nobel prize in literature was awarded, Cartarescu was rated with 25 chances to 1 to win the Nobel literature prize, according to Ladbrokes betting office, along with Milan Kundera, Thomas Pynchon, Cees Nooteboom and American artist Bob Dylan. Cartarescu received similar ratings from other well-known betting offices, such as Nicerodds, Paf ?i Unibet.
Mircea Cartarescu is expected to receive the prestigious award for the best book at the Fair in Leipzig next year, for the “Blinding” trilogy (Romanian: “Orbitor”).
