Nudity art auctioned next week at Artmark

Leda and the swan” painted by Octav Bancila is put up for sale at Artmark’s summer auction next week. Inspired from a well-known legend of the Greek mythology, the painting is rated for EUR 4,500-6,500.

The legend says that Zeus fell in love with Leda, the daughter of King Thestius and wife of Tyndareus, king of Sparta, and chooses to turn into a swan in order to smite her. His initiative is succesful and it seems that the result of their affair would have been Helen, the same Helen of Troy.

Octav Bancila is present with another painting „ From the fountain”, a painting dating back in 1906. It is estimated for EUR 4,000-6,000.

Twilight” by Sabin Balasa (rated for EUR 4,000-6,000) and „Knight” by Corneliu Brudascu (rated for EUR 2,500-3,500) are also put up for auction.

The exhibition can be visited by Tuesday, June 16, with the summer auction taking place on June 17, starting 19:30 at Athénée Palace Hilton.
