New jazz festival under our autumn sun: Mozaic

After Sibiu Jazz Festival, the town is again jazz Capital on November 14-16.

This year, a new jazz festival is set in motion on the Romanian cultural arena. We are talking about Mozaic Jazz Festival taking place between November 14 and 16 in Sibiu. The festival is based on a simple concept, focused on the quality of the participating artists and bands as well as on the experience offered to the audience.

The first famous guest to open the festival is “Trilok Gurtu Band” (photo), one of the most appreciated jazz and world music percussionists of all times. During his over 40 years of career he collaborated with artists such as: John McLaughlin, Joe Zawinul, Jan Garbarek, Don Cherry, Bill Evans, Pharoah Sanders, Dave Holland, Zakir Hussain, Neneh Cherry and many more. He will come to Sibiu together with his band.

Line Up

With a line-up comprising only six bands, Mozaic Jazz Festival will offer to the participating audience a complete jazzistic atmosphere. Thus, the line-up includes names like Nikoletta Szoke Quartet, BaLaKo, Trilok Gurtu Band, David Krakauer, Steve Coleman and Five Elements, Tord Gustavsen Ensemble.

Having as nucleus the music and the audience, Mozaic Jazz Festival facilitates the merging of the two inseparable entities. The festival aims, through its program and activities, to strengthen Sibiu’s cultural image worldwide and to maintain the title of Jazz Capital for Sibiu.

Tickets are available in Eventim network: Germanos , Orange, Vodafone and Domo stores, Humanitas and Carturesti bookshops, Palace Hall and online on www.eventim.ro. Price tickets will vary between RON 70 a day and RON 170 for the entire festival with discounts for students and pensioners.
