87.3% city residents from Romania will buy gifts on St. Nicholas for their beloved ones, says a study conducted by Mednet Marketing Research Center. The preferred gifts are sweets (70.4%), toys (48.2%) and clothes&footwear (41.7%).
Romanians also love to give fruit, cosmetics/perfumes and books as gifts, but also jewelry, smartphone or tablet accessories and even house hold appliances. 2 pc of the respondents say they will give money.
The average sum that the respondents will allot to St. Nicholas presents is RON 345, however on slight increase as against last year (RON 340).
Almost half of the interviewed people intend to spend from RON 100 to RON 250 on St. Nicholas.
The study has been conducted during November 23-29 through the CAWI method (Computer Assisted Web Interviewing) on 812 people aged from 18 to 65.
