Romanian actress Madalina Ghenea, awarded at Taormina Film Fest, Italy

After the success of the ‘Youth’ movie premiere at this year edition of Cannes Film Festival, Romanian-born Madalina Ghenea’s acting talents were also appreciated at 61st Taormina Film Fest, Italy, June 13 -20.

The 26-year-old Romanian fashion model-turned-actress received the “Rising Star Award” – Vanity Fair & Shiseido for her appearance in ‘Youth – La giovinezza’ directed by Paolo Sorrentino, starring with legendary Michael Caine and Harvey Keitel.

“Thank you all. Thank you Vanity Fair. Thank you Sicily. Thank you Italy. You, this beautiful country, are such an important part of my career. So this award is particularly special to me. (…) It was such an privilege to be in Paolo’s film. He is a true genius. A national treasure for sure. Walking firmly in the path of Italy’s greatest directors.” Madalina wrote on her Facebook account.

During Wednesday evening, Madalina had the opportunity to know the famous actor Richard Gere, one of the special guests, with whom she didn’t miss the opportunity to talk and photograph.
