Romanian young musician wins first prize at international contest in Russia

Romanian 21-year-old Andrei Ionita won the first prize and a gold medal at Cello section at the 15th edition of Tchaikovsky International Contest in Russia, held June 17-30.

He graduated “Iosif Sava” Music School in Bucharest, cello section and “St. Sava” National College. He is currently studying at Art University in Berlin (UdK). He started to study piano at 5 and cello at 9. He was awarded numerous national and international prizes.

The second prize in cello section went to Alexander Ramm and the third one to Alexandre Bouzlov.
