Sankt Petersburg Ballet dance skaters get ready for Bucharest “Swan Lake On Ice” show

The Russian champions must stick to a strict low-fat diet, still water with lemon included.

Getting up for “Swan Lake On Ice” extraordinary show is now in-line. The Russian ballet skaters, members of Sankt Petersburg State Ballet on Ice, went on a strict diet, while rehearsals are also due to kick off. “There are about two months ahead the great event and we must be in maximum shape for the story of the princess turned into swan,” the artistic manager of the Ballet Ensemble, famous choreographer Konstantin Rassadin told a press release issued by Germany Quality Entertainment, the event’s organizer.

The dancers have to drink two liters of still water with lemon each day and to have low-fat meals every two hours for a week. After this drastic diet, they will be able to resume rehearsals.

The entire Sankt Petersburg Ballet on Ice Ensemble will perform at the Palace Hall in Bucharest on April 4, at 8 p.m. The access will be available starting 7 p.m. The ballet skaters will introduce the audience on Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s music chords into the fairy world of Princess Odette, whom the bad wizard Rothbart turned into a swan.

The tickets with prices ranging from RON 49, RON 149 to RON 199 and RON 299 are available in Diverta, Inmedio and Germanos stores, at the Romanian Post offices, at the Palace Hall booking offices and online at:,,,,,

Most of the incumbent skaters of Sankt Petersburg State Ensemble won national and international contests, with many of them coming from Russian famous schools of figure skating, such as Jubilejni where the world Olympic champion Evgeny Plushenko has also been discovered. Outstanding artists have joined Russian corps de ballet, for example Ludmila Beloussova-Oleg Protopopov pair, the world, European and Olympic champion Alexei Ulanov or Ludmila Smirnova.

Set up in 1967, Leningrad Ensemble (now St. Petersburg Ensemble) shook the show world up by combining the classical ballet with figure skating for the first time in the world on a skating rink located on a theater stage. “Sleeping Beauty”, “Swan Lake”, “Nutcracker” by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, as well as “Cinderella” by Serghei Prokofiev are the titles performed by Sankt Petersburg Ballet On Ice in more than 7,000 shows.
