The famous artist and researcher Albert Barqué-Duran arrives in Bucharest

Renowned artist and interdisciplinary researcher Albert Barqué-Duran, arrives on Thursday, August 29, in Bucharest to collaborate with the SENS team in the creation process of an immersive show that will have its preview on September 22. Barqué-Duran, known for his innovative explorations at the intersection of art, technology and science, will bring his expertise to the show’s final construction process.

SENS, whose cast includes Ioana Flora and Silvana Negruțiu, will give viewers the opportunity to go through a collective cognitive process, where the story and the path of the characters are influenced by their decisions and actions together.

During his visit to Bucharest, Albert Barqué-Duran will attend a series of rehearsals and provide the artists involved in the project with valuable information accumulated during his research in the field of extended cognition. His unique expertise will be essential in finalizing the innovative artistic concepts used in the production of the SENS show, so that the audience will have a special immersive experience.

“I am excited to embark on the ‘Sens’ journey where art, science and technology meet and invite us to explore the depths of cognitive science and aesthetics. My goal is to share and experience how the ‘mechanisms of shared intention’ not only shape our collective consciousness, but also enrich our creative process, allowing us to co-create meaning and beauty in ways that transcend individual perspectives,” explains Albert. Barqué-Duran.

Throughout his career, Albert Barqué-Duran has explored the ways in which new technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality can influence artistic creation and human perception. He is also the study coordinator of Interactive Arts & Sciences at the Ramon Llull University of Barcelona, ​​a position that allows him to be at the forefront of research and education in the field of digital arts and sciences.

Barqué-Duran has been involved in various innovative projects that combine traditional art with new technological media, and his work has been exhibited in international galleries and events. He frequently collaborates with scientists and engineers to explore new methods of artistic expression and to investigate the impact of these technologies on culture and society. In his academic work, Barqué-Duran has been affiliated with various renowned institutions, where he has contributed to research in the field of digital art and human-machine interaction.
