Clara Haskil International Festival to kick off with a most prestigious lineup on October 26

The second edition of Clara Haskil International Festival will run from October 26 to November 2 at Sibiu Philharmonic, with internationally renowned musicians attending.

The most awarded German pianist Alexander Schimpf will perform within the event, as well as Mauro Lo Conte, the Italian pianist, Volodymyr Lavrynienko, Ukrainian pianist and Modigliani Quartet, described as „fabulous” by critics in The Seattle Times.

Romanian pianist Cristian Budu and Stefan Tara will join the festival, along with Bucharest Symphonic Opera as well as Tiberiu Soare, one of the most acclaimed contemporary conductors.

„We wanted this second edition of the festival to bring us closer to the memory and the personality of the genius Romanian-born pianist who is Clara Haskil. As a premiere, in an extraordinary move, actress Maia Morgenstern decided to join us with an unacted reading performance, rendering excerpts from the correspondence between Clara Haskil and Dinu Lipatii on the stage of Thalia Hall. There is the current worldwide trend of the art blending in order to offer the audience an experience as complex as possible,” pianist Alina Azario, the artisitc manager of the Festival said according a press release.

Tickets were put up for sale at www.bilet.ro and at the booking office of Thalia Hall in Sibiu as of today, October 1.
