Enescu concert at Carnival in Venice

A concert dedicated to great Romanian composer George Enescu will be performed at the Carnival in Venice. Romanian violinist Vlad Maistorovici and pianist Diana Ionescu will perform Enescu’s compositions but also works by Arcangelo Corelli and Ernest Chausson, within the “Enescu: l’amore in sepia” event due on February 14, starting 7 p.m. at the Ateneo Veneto (photo) in Venice. Venice Carnival 2015 edition will begin on January 31 and will last till February 17.

According to the Romanian Cultural Institute in Venice, the two performers acquired high prestigious recognition abroad and were awarded many international prizes.

Violinist Vlad Maistorovici performed at the Camera Orchestra of the European Union, South Bank Simphony in London and on the great stages all over the world. He was awarded at Tillett Trust and Young Concert Artist Trust international contests.

Pianist Diana Ionescu, known as “the ambassador of the Romanian culture abroad” and awarded for her contribution to the Romanian-British relations, is considered one of the most charming artists of her generation.
