ProTicket presents a theatrical premiere set to embark on a national tour—“Regina Mamă/The Queen Mother” by Manlio Santanelli, starring Oana Pellea and Marius Manole in the lead roles. A story of love and conflict, past and present, spoken words and unspoken emotions.
Two people are trapped in a complex relationship—a domineering mother and her son, returning home after a long absence. Between painful memories and fragile hopes, they struggle with reproaches, silences, and unexpected moments of tenderness. Beneath the appearance of harshness lies a deep love, difficult to express. “Regina Mamă” is a play about family relationships, regrets, longing, and the fundamental need to be loved—universal themes that resonate with us all.
Oana Pellea describes the production as a slice of life, blending emotion, laughter, regrets, and reconciliation. “It’s a wonderful script. Is it a comedy? Yes. A drama? Also, yes. Is it theater? Is it life? That’s for you to decide,” says the actress.
For Marius Manole, this project is a dream come true: “I can hardly believe it’s happening. The greatest joy is reuniting with the incredible Oana Pellea. I hope we get to perform this play for many, many years. That also depends on you, the audience.”
