The Romanian Cultural Institute in London will host a special recital on Thursday, April 10, as part of the Enescu Concert Series. The performance will feature soprano Iulia Isaev, tenor Alin Stoica, and pianist Liana Mareș. This event offers the British audience a glimpse into the excellence of Romanian lyrical art—serving as a prelude to the 2025 edition of the Bucharest Opera Festival.
During the event, details about the fourth edition of the Bucharest Opera Festival will be revealed, providing a preview of this year’s upcoming festivities. British journalist Peter Quantrill, who attended the third edition of the festival in Bucharest last year, will share his impressions, reflecting on memorable moments and the impact of the festival. The audience will also have the chance to view the Bucharest Opera Festival 2024 All Puccini Edition film, produced by Virgil Oprina, which serves as a video testament to the success of the previous edition. Daniel Jinga, the director of the National Opera of Bucharest, will also participate in the event.
Set to reach its fourth edition in June 2025, the Bucharest Opera Festival plays a crucial role in positioning Bucharest among the major cities hosting international festivals. The festival aims to strengthen the platform for showcasing the most prestigious opera and ballet companies from both Romania and abroad.
The Enescu Concert Series has been uninterrupted under the auspices of the Enescu Society in the UK since 2007, providing music lovers with the opportunity to explore and appreciate the diversity of the Enescu repertoire, alongside works by other Romanian composers, performed by renowned artists.
