Untold festival: EUR 23 M returns in 4 days

UNTOLD festival, the electrifying event that brought 300,000 spectators to Cluj Napoca the past weekend, reported returns of EUR 23 M, three millions more than in 2015. So, on average the spectators spent EUR 50 per day.

All the 12,900 available accommodation seats have been booked in Cluj-Napoca during the festival, be it luxury hotels or pensions.

One of the participant told Digi 24 that he booked in good time, eight months before the festival.

“Eight months ago, we had no available accommodation. We had a funnier request, a reservation has been made right before leaving the hotel last year,” said a hotel owner.

The audience record has been reached in the third day of the festival, along with the Armin van Buuren show, when there were 15,000 more spectators than the best night at the first edition of the festival.

“Saturday provided a new record for us. Over 80,000 people were in for the festival,” said Adrian Ghereji, the marketing and communication manager of the festival.

Ten per cent of the 300,000 spectators were foreigners.
